On the Oracle download site, install the Oracle 64-bit ODAC Oracle Universal Installer (OUI). You only need the following steps when using Oracle ODAC drivers 12.2 and later. Otherwise, they install by default to a non-machine-wide configuration for a new Oracle home installation. These steps assume you've installed the ODAC 18.x files to the c:\oracle64 folder.
Power BI Desktop uses Unmanaged ODP.NET for authoring Power BI reports. You only need the following steps when using Oracle ODAC drivers 12.2 and later. Otherwise, they install by default to a non-machine-wide configuration for a new Oracle home installation. These steps assume you've installed the ODAC 18.x files to the c:\oracle64 folder for 64-bit Power BI Desktop or the c:\oracle32 folder for 32-bit Power BI Desktop. oracle 10gr2 64-bit download
Download Zip: https://miimms.com/2vIyT5
This will download and install a pre-compiled binary from PyPI if one is available for yourarchitecture. Otherwise, the source will be downloaded, compiled, and theresulting binary installed. Compiling python-oracledb requires thePython.h header file. If you are using the default python package, this file is in the python-devel package or equivalent.
By default, python-oracledb runs in a Thin mode which connects directly toOracle Database so no further installation steps are required. However, to useadditional features available in Thick mode you needOracle Client libraries installed. Note that to use Thick mode on the M1architecture you will need to use Rosetta with Python 64-bit Intel and theInstant Client (Intel x86) libraries.
This tech note concerns Oracle Instant Client 19.1 for Mac-Intel 64-bit architecture, which at the time of writing is available to download from Oracle's website. The procedure outlined here is also relevant to MacOSX 10.15 (Catalina) and MacOSX 11.0 (Big Sur). There is also an older version of this technote, in case you are using a version of MacOSX pre-10.15, available here: tnsq0010b.
A tip for people who cannot find the Oracle Client Software: dont go to whe Oracle Dowload Pages and look for the software in the list, even worse: the oracle search wont retrieve the downloads either!!! The best bet is to use Google an search for "Oracle 10g Release 2 64-bit client software". Among the search results I find "64-bit Oracle Data Access Components (ODAC) for Windows", but they are only offered as "64-bit Oracle 10g Release 2 ODAC 10.2.0.3 for Windows x64".
